Your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel or a nearby location. After an approximately 1.5-hour scenic drive through the stunning Cretan countryside, we arrive at the Omalos Plateau, where you can view the entrance to the Samaria National Park. From there, we continue our journey to Sougia and board a boat that follows the coastline to the picturesque village of Agia Roumeli.
During your stay in Agia Roumeli, you will have ample time to explore the Samaria Gorge from its exit to the famous Iron Gates. You can choose to walk a total of 4.5 km—3 km from the village to the gorge entrance and an additional 1.5 km to reach the Iron Gates, one of the most spectacular points of the gorge.
In the late afternoon, we will take the return boat back to Sougia, where our coach will be waiting to transport you comfortably back to Chania.
